Workshop Information

As awareness of Per- and PolyFluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) contamination continues to increase throughout the US, concerns are being raised on the effects of PFAS on impact human health.

The UConn School of Engineering is excited to announce the first virtual workshop on PFAS – Think PFASt! What you need to know about the forever chemicals. This workshop will provide an overview of current knowledge on PFAS, including leading industry and research efforts in the State of Connecticut. You will also receive training on the PFAS regulatory framework and the CT PFAS Action Plan.

Workshop Topics

  • PFAS toxicology and exposure assessment;
  • Current PFAS policies and regulations in Connecticut;
  • State of practice on remediation of PFAS contaminated media;
  • Scientific approaches on PFAS exposure, detection, and remediation.
